Around 60 people young and old gathered to be a part of this Concert. At the stroke of 6.30pm, 15 children from 7 to 17 years gave a cultural feast. The children were the prize winners of various music competitions  of the 15th Balar Chithirai Kalai Vizha. The Songs had varied genres like Keerthanais, Varnams, Abhangs, Bhajans, Folk Music etc. and really Cutchery Kalai Kattiyathu. The Terrace with terracotta tiles was surrounded with concrete jungles. In this calm and collective atmosphere, the audience were breezed / fanned by nature’s pankas, sat spell bound for two hours inundated in the divine music.

At the end of the Cutchery, all had “Nilaa Choru” which included Puliyan Saadam, Saambar Saadam, Thayir Saadam, Urulai Kizhangu Curry,  Mangaai Oorgaai, Urulai Kizhangu Chips, Kesari, Gulab Jamun, Kaimurukku, Kaarasevai etc. All these Food items were prepared and served by the parents with enthusiasm. On that evening as every one of us were eagerly gazing at the sky, the chandrodayam finally appeared- the moon was a late raiser and a late comer that day...

The parents appreciated the efforts of “The Trio” in inculcating cultural values to children through their programs. The children opined that it was their maiden performance of such a kind and a new experience for them. They felt that it was indeed a very innovative concept and thanked the Foundation for reviving age-old customs that are becoming obsolete. Everybody presented themselves in Traditional attire. The Foundation Members were overwhelmed with the hospitality extended by host Smt. Meenakshi Sundaram. The TRIO and Sugathan felt it was really a memorable event with a new dimension altogether.
