The Bay of Bengal skirting the Coromandel Coast is dotted with many towns and cities. There are seaside activities taking place on the bay along the coast and Puducherry, a vibrant town kissing the bay, is a hotbed of seaside activities.
If you have a passion for riding high on the waves, there is Kallialay Surf Club at Bodhi Beach, about 10 km from the town. The club trains people who are interested in surfing.
It was launched a couple of months ago and many members have enrolled in the club.
The founder of the club, Jean Reboul, a French, started the club when the locals shared a passion for surfing.
He chose Bodhi Beach as the waters are shallow and safe for learners. The tutors are learned and experienced surfers and safety of the people is a top priority for them. Jean is thinking of conducting a championship which would lure the people to learn this art.
There are two courses offered:
Five-day crash course
10-day beginners course.
