Chennai: More water tankers to meet water shortage

CHENNAI, MARCH 13TH

MWSSB has been initiating servers activities at a cost of Rs. 60 Crores to meet the demand for water from the Chennai resident. The task of exploring new water resources is also in progress.
The drinking water for the Chennai which was earlier 85 Crore Litres per day, has now been reduced to 55 Crores Litres per day.
As sufficient pressure is not available in the low capacity at present, the facility of pipe/tap water has also been reduced.
In this situation, MWSSB has also undertaken the task of setting up plastic storage tanks in different places and distributing it to the public.
As the currently operating strength of 520 water tanker lorries os insufficient, MWSSB has decided to hire more water tanker lorries to meet the demand.
